Chicago Crime Spree
My dad always said, “nothing good happens after midnight“. This was true on Tuesday, Sept 6, 2022 at about 1:40am when on the Blue Line train, a 28-year old guy was beaten after an argument with another man. This happened near the 300 block of South Dearborn Street, Chicago Police said.
After the altercation, and the 28-year old on the ground beaten senseless, the assailant took the guy’s wallet, exited the train as it stopped, and went on his way. The 28-year old, suffered bruises and was transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital and was said to be in good condition.
Chicago Police say no arrest have been made. It is unclear if an investigation would be underway.
CRIME IN CHICAGO GETTING WORSE
Talking with people living in Chicago, they tell me that violence in Chicago feels that it has gotten alot worse. And as we look into the numbers, it’s clear that violence is not getting any better.
In fact, as you can see from the stats above that there were a total of 6,752 reported aggravated assault cases Chicago in 2021. As of today, Chicago has seen over 6,700 already and this is definitely concerning today as we are only 10 days into September. Making matters worse for Mayor Lightfoot and residents in the city, is that non-shooting fatal cases are up this year when compared to all of 2021. In 2021, Chicago saw 42 non-shooting related deaths all year long. Compare that number to 2022, and we are already at 43 for this year. As you can see, there is a need for Chicagoans to, at a bare minimum, learn the basics of self defense.
