Jiu-Jitsu Professor Detains Attacker
Video: Jiu-Jitsu Chicago Self Defense Professor Detaining Man Before Police Make Arrest
North Side Chicago, Illinois — Stories like this are encouraging. Here was Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Professor and owner of Supreme Jiu-Jitsu Academy, Idriz Redzovic stepping in to help a 7-11 store clerk as an attacker, Christopher Cruz, 30, terrorized the 19-year old clerk working at the 7-Eleven at 1532 W. Lawrence, just east of Ashland Avenue in Ravenswood.
ART OF SELF DEFENSE
What Christopher Cruz, the attacker, didn’t know is that the guy stepping in in to help was the owner of Supreme Jiu-Jitsu Academy, located on Lincoln Avenue just northwest of the intersection with Halsted Street and Fullerton Avenue. Not only is Idriz Redzovic, he is a Jiu-Jitsu professor who enjoys teaching the art of self-defense.
Idriz Redzovic was able to tackle Christopher Cruz and hold him in a mounted position, probably the most dominant ground grappling position, where one combatant will sit on the others torso to hold him in that position. As you can see if the video, there was nothing Christopher Cruz to do, except plead for his release.
JIU-JITSU TO THE RESCUE
Thank you Idriz, if we recall correctly, this is not the first time, you’ve step in as a good Samaritan. We love you for it!
